Indexed description

Lavendo partners with startups and high‑growth companies to help them hire top‑tier sales, GTM, and technical talent. This role is with one of our clients; we’ll share full details about the company and interview process as we get to know you and confirm mutual fit.

About the Company

Our client is an AI-native software company building the operating system for mortgage servicing. It just raised a $150M Series D at a $2B+ valuation, led by Ribbit Capital with participation from Andreessen Horowitz.

The company ran its own mortgage servicer before becoming a software company, so the platform was built around real operations. Loan records, money movement, workflows, task management, and audit trails sit in one system, and native AI agents work inside its permissions and controls.

Demand is already there - $200M+ in contracted ARR within its first six months in market, and institutions behind roughly one in six U.S. mortgages are under contract to run on the platform.

The Mission

Replace the legacy systems that run American mortgages with software where AI can do real work, with the context, controls, and audit trail that regulated finance demands.

The Opportunity

The contracts are signed. Your job is to turn them into live, high-performing operations.

As a Deployment Strategist, you are the person a servicer's COO calls when a migration gets hard. You will sit with escrow, foreclosure, and cash teams, find where their process breaks, and redesign it with product and engineering. You pull the data yourself, settle the discrepancies, and stay on the hook until the numbers move.

You will also use AI and coding agents daily to investigate faster and build the tools your team needs. The deployment function is still being built, so the playbooks, tooling, and AI workflows that define how this company delivers are yours to write.

If you want the scope of a startup operator, direct access to senior executives, and the backing of a $2.3B company, this is the role.

What You'll Do

  • Own deployment workstreams from discovery through configuration, migration, launch, and adoption

  • Map client workflows, find platform gaps, and align client leadership on priorities and sequencing

  • Investigate data across the platform, client operations, and capital-partner records

  • Work onsite with specialists in escrow, foreclosure, loss mitigation, and cash operations

  • Turn operational findings into product and engineering requirements

  • Coordinate engineering, product, compliance, executives, and external partners without disrupting live operations

  • Build reusable playbooks, internal tools, and AI workflows for the whole team

  • Stay accountable after launch for adoption, performance, and business results

What You Bring

  • 3-6 years in strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, or high-growth startups

  • Undergraduate degree from a top university

  • Proof that you built or defined playbooks, tooling, and processes from scratch

  • Hands-on use of AI tools and coding agents

  • Hybrid in NYC (Union Square) or SF (SoMa), 3-4 days in office (relocation assistance is available)

  • Domestic travel of roughly 10-20%, might be higher during critical phases

Key Success Drivers

  • High agency: you see what needs to happen and start, without waiting for a playbook

  • Ownership: you care about the outcome, not just your deliverable

  • First-principles thinking: you break down unfamiliar problems and decide from evidence

  • Range: you can brief an executive in the morning and debug a data issue in the afternoon

  • Fast learning: you pick up complex systems and regulatory detail quickly

  • Judgment: you move fast while protecting correctness, compliance, and client trust

  • Builder instinct: you create structure where none exists

Why Join?

  • Base salary: 140K-240K plus meaningful equity, with monthly vesting after a one-year cliff

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) plan

  • Flexible PTO, sick days, and 11 company holidays

  • Relocation assistance up to $10K

  • 12 weeks of fully paid bonding leave for birthing and non-birthing parents

  • Lunch and dinner on in-office days

  • Dog-friendly NYC office

  • Pre-tax commuter deductions for public transportation, rideshare, and parking

  • Company-wide onboarding, learning and development, and 360-degree reviews

  • Quarterly budgets for team and company outings

  • Real scope: you own work that changes how large financial institutions run

  • Fresh funding: the Series D is meant to scale product and teams, including deployment

Interviewing Process

  • Recruiter screen

  • Strategic thinking interview: first-principles reasoning and ambiguous problem solving

  • Executive screen with a deployment co-lead, covering executive presence, judgment, and fit

  • Final panel: take-home case presentation, a 30-minute live client strategy session, and a 15-minute recruiter wrap-up

Compensation Range: $140K - $240K
