Your Role And Responsibilities
As Project Manager, you will deliver fixed price and outcome-based customer platform projects for a major energy network business. You'll own scope, schedule, cost and governance across a blended onshore and offshore team and several third parties. You'll make sure each project lands on time, on budget and ready for support.
Working with solution architects, test managers, build squads and client program and product owners, you'll be responsible for:
- Mobilisation and Baselining: Validating the WBS, confirming deliverables, reviewers, approvers and dates, and agreeing conditions of satisfaction before work starts
- Commercial Delivery: Delivering against SOWs and fixed price commercials, running change control, and tracking margin, burn and estimate to complete
- Governance: Running status reporting, steering committees and the RAID log, and taking projects through stage gates such as architecture review, estimate endorsement, go-live readiness and CAB
- Delivery Planning: Planning across waterfall and hybrid agile models, including coordinating multiple capability squads on a large program
- Dependency Management: Managing dependencies on third party build partners, market bodies, retailers and internal client teams such as cyber, GIS and data
- Resourcing: Coordinating onshore and offshore resources across architects, test and build teams
- Go-live and Transition: Leading SIT, UAT, migration rehearsals, cut-over, hypercare and warranty, and closing out into managed support
- Manage Project Scope and Deliverables: Lead the team in delivering Microsoft technology solutions, ensuring alignment with the Agile Delivery Framework, and manage scope, cost, schedule, and contractual deliverables.
- Establish Effective Communication: Establish effective communication with the team and the client, providing daily direction and regular status updates to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure Quality Compliance: Hold accountability for Base account growth, Quality Compliance as per CSE need, and represent the project for the CMMI certification when selected.
- Manage Project Resources: Manage all project resources, ensuring optimal utilization and allocation to meet project objectives
- Oversee Project Status: Hold overall responsibility for project deliverables, providing regular status updates to the client and stakeholders.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Mandatory Requirements
- 8+ years managing IT delivery projects of $1m to $5m, with teams of 15 to 30 people
- Proven delivery of Microsoft platform projects - Power Platform, Dynamics 365 or Azure
- Fixed price and outcome-based delivery experience, including change control, commercial reporting and scope management
- Hybrid waterfall and agile delivery, including squad coordination and stage-gate governance
- Experience leading onshore and offshore teams
- Clear written reporting for executive and steering committee audiences
Certification in Project Management: Possession of certifications like PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile, demonstrating expertise in project management methodologies and frameworks.
Experience with Microsoft Technology Solutions: Strong background in delivering Microsoft technology solutions, with a deep understanding of the technologies and their applications.
Experience in Quality Compliance: Familiarity with quality compliance frameworks, such as CMMI, and experience in implementing quality control measures to meet client needs.
Experience with Resource Management: Proven ability to manage project resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilization and allocation to meet project objectives.
Delivery & Risk
- RAID management across multiple vendors and client teams
- Cut-over, data migration and go-live planning
- Test coordination through SIT and UAT
- Transition to managed support, including warranty and handover artefacts
- Certification in Project Management: Possession of certifications like PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile is beneficial, demonstrating expertise in project management methodologies and frameworks.
- Experience with Microsoft Technology Solutions: A strong background in delivering Microsoft technology solutions is advantageous, with a deep understanding of the technologies and their applications.
- Experience in Quality Compliance: Familiarity with quality compliance frameworks, such as CMMI, is desirable, with experience in implementing quality control measures to meet client needs.
- Delivery in energy, utilities or other regulated sectors
- Experience with compliance-driven deadlines and external market parties such as AEMO and retailers
- Working knowledge of ICT release and change advisory processes in a large enterprise
