Hays are currently partnering with a growing mid-sized mining technology organisation to recruit a Solutions Architect to join their Platform team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a technology-led organisation that is investing heavily in its digital and data capabilities. The Platform team has been busy designing and delivering new data platforms and core technology services, and they are now looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to help shape the next stage of their technology landscape.

About the Role

As a Solutions Architect, you will work closely with software engineers, data engineers, platform engineers, product teams and business stakeholders to design scalable, secure and resilient technology solutions.

You’ll play a key role in translating business requirements into practical technical solutions, while providing architectural guidance across the development and evolution of the company’s data and platform capabilities.

This isn't your typical Solutions Architect role within a large mining organisation. You'll have the opportunity to design and deliver brand-new technology solutions for a growing mid-sized business, collaborating with some of Perth's most talented software and data engineering professionals to shape the company's future technology landscape.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing solution architectures across cloud, data and software platforms
• Working closely with engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Helping shape the architecture and ongoing evolution of new data platforms
• Providing technical leadership and architectural guidance
• Developing architecture patterns, standards and technical roadmaps
• Designing cloud-native, highly available and scalable solutions
• Working across APIs, integrations, distributed systems and data platforms
• Evaluating new technologies and making recommendations to improve the technology landscape
• Identifying technical risks, dependencies and opportunities for improvement
• Supporting engineering teams throughout implementation

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an experienced Solutions Architect, Technical Architect, Lead Engineer or Senior Engineer who enjoys working on complex technology problems and collaborating closely with engineering teams.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Strong experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions
• Experience across data platforms, data architecture or data engineering
• Strong software engineering fundamentals
• Experience with APIs, integrations and distributed systems
• Understanding of cloud-native and modern architecture patterns
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
• Strong understanding of security, scalability, reliability and performance
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Experience with Azure or AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Kubernetes, Terraform, event-driven architecture, .NET/C# or Python would be highly regarded.

Mining, resources, industrial technology or other complex operational environments experience would also be advantageous.
