Our client is seeking a skilled and adaptable Automation Engineer to design, develop, and commission advanced automation and control systems. This role acts as a critical bridge between low-level industrial hardware and high-level software interfaces. You will be responsible for programming system logic, building intuitive user interfaces, and ensuring seamless data integration across complex process equipment.
Core Responsibilities
- Architect and program control systems leveraging PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA platforms.
- Build and maintain custom software applications, interfaces, and scripting layers utilizing C#, SQL, and JavaScript.
- Setup, configure, and troubleshoot critical industrial communication networks and protocols including Ethernet/IP and OPC.
- Lead equipment integration activities, driving successful execution of FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing).
- Travel to client facilities to execute equipment commissioning, system debugging, and initial startup operations.
- Rapidly diagnose and resolve multi-layered system faults across hardware networks, software logic, and instrumentation.
- Partner actively with process engineers, mechanical design teams, and end-customers to translate operational needs into robust automated sequences.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 3 to 5 years of direct, hands-on experience in industrial automation, process control systems, or systems integration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline or a highly related technical field.
- Proven, foundational experience programming PLCs
- Functional programming capability in C#, SQL databases, and JavaScript.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to approximately 10% to support project commissioning and client sites.
- Strong analytical problem-solving abilities paired with effective technical communication skills tailored for engineering teams and corporate clients.
