Project Manager Java

About the Role

The Project Manager Java will lead and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of Java-based software projects within our Alabama office. This role is pivotal in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives, while maintaining high standards of quality. The successful candidate will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage resources effectively, and communicate progress to stakeholders at all levels. They will also identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues promptly, and drive continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle. Ultimately, this position ensures that Java development initiatives contribute to the company’s strategic goals and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end management of Java software development projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.


• Coordinate with development teams, including Java developers and QA engineers, to facilitate smooth project execution and delivery.


• Manage version control processes and oversee deployment environments such as Web Logic and Web Sphere to ensure stable releases.


• Implement and enforce best practices related to Model View Controller (MVC) architecture and Java Server Pages (JSP) development.


• Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management, providing actionable insights and recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.


• Proven experience managing Java-based software projects with a strong understanding of Java technologies.


• Hands-on knowledge of version management tools and application servers such as Web Logic and Web Sphere.


• Familiarity with MVC frameworks and Java Server Pages (JSP) development.


• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.


• Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.


• Advanced knowledge of Java EE architecture and related frameworks.


• Prior experience managing projects in a corporate or enterprise setting.
