Quality Assurance Specialist SAP - MUST LIVE WITHIN 60 MILES OF MADISON, WISCONSIN

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to support enterprise SAP and business application initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring applications meet business and technical requirements through comprehensive test planning, functional testing, automation development, defect management, release validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical expertise and business acumen, enabling them to effectively collaborate with developers, project teams, and business stakeholders while driving software quality throughout the application lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and validation procedures for SAP and enterprise business applications.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing to ensure application quality and stability.
• Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts and automation frameworks.
• Integrate automated testing into software release and deployment pipelines.
• Identify, document, track, and validate resolution of software defects and application issues.
• Collaborate with developers, business users, project managers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve quality concerns.
• Support UAT planning, execution, release approvals, and post-deployment validation activities.
• Produce quality metrics, testing reports, and release readiness documentation.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective testing strategies.
• Recommend application enhancements and process improvements based on testing outcomes and business needs.
• Assist with software deployments, rollouts, and production support activities.
• Provide Level 2/Level 3 application support for complex issues escalated beyond the Help Desk.
• Participate in projects ranging from small enhancements to large-scale enterprise initiatives.
• Mentor junior QA team members, co-ops, and less experienced testers when appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or QA Automation experience.
• Proven experience creating and executing test plans, test cases, and validation strategies.
• Strong experience managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and release validation activities.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated testing solutions.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to interview stakeholders, gather requirements, and document findings.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP application testing experience.
• Experience supporting ERP environments.
• SQL development and query-writing experience.
• Knowledge of SQL Server and/or DB2 databases.
• Experience with stored procedures and data modeling concepts.
• Additional programming or software development experience.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release management practices.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Advanced QA automation expertise across enterprise applications.
