Role Description The Senior Associate/Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Lubbock, TX. This role is responsible for managing and reviewing general ledger entries, preparing financial statements, and performing account reconciliations. Daily tasks include supporting clients with compliance and reporting requirements. The Senior Associate/Senior Accountant will supervise and mentor junior team members, perform engagement planning using Caseware/DAS, and ensure work is completed in accordance with professional standards and firm policies. The role also involves communicating with clients, responding to questions, and contributing to process improvements within the firm.
Qualifications
- Strong technical accounting skills, including experience with general ledger accounting, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation and compliance for businesses, with knowledge of relevant federal and state tax regulations.
- Experience using accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Sage, and cloud-based accounting systems.
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and provide practical recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly and professionally.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA license or CPA eligibility strongly preferred.
- Relevant public accounting experience at the senior associate or senior accountant level, including client-facing responsibilities.
