Summary
- The CW Seibi Technician Trainer will provide technical training and hands-on Seibi support in a major automotive manufacturing environment. The role combines classroom training, OJT, and hands-on manufacturing-floor support, covering Body Weld, Paint, and Assembly. The position requires extensive Seibi/automotive maintenance experience, strong PLC and robotics knowledge, and the ability to develop and deliver technical training programs.
Responsibilities
- Train new hires and experienced Seibi technicians through classroom, hands-on, and OJT programs.
- Develop, write, and deliver technical training curricula and training plans.
- Conduct 10–14 day bootcamp training for new hires and 5–6 day periodic training for existing technicians.
- Provide weekly training support for Body Weld, Paint, and Assembly.
- Provide hands-on Seibi support on the manufacturing floor.
- Troubleshoot and perform logic updates on Toyopuc PLCs and Omron PLCs.
- Support offline and online robot programming.
- Support machine Seibi activities from equipment installation through start of production.
- Prepare and verify new Body equipment at vendor/supplier locations.
- Confirm new-model equipment meets required standards and performs as intended.
- Support equipment setup, trials, commissioning, and production readiness.
- Develop equipment countermeasures during setup and trials.
- Support Seibi technicians with troubleshooting and technical problem-solving.
- Develop training programs as new technologies and equipment are introduced.
- Support North American manufacturing facilities and suppliers.
- Travel to the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Japan as required.
- Work overtime, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of current or recent Seibi or automotive maintenance experience.
- 10+ years of Toyopuc PLC troubleshooting and logic-update experience.
- 3+ years of Omron PLC troubleshooting and logic-update experience.
- 10+ years of Seibi/maintenance technical training experience.
- Proven ability to train technicians in classroom, hands-on, and OJT environments.
- Experience developing and writing technical training curricula.
- Strong hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, PLCs, robotics, troubleshooting, and automation.
- Robot programming experience preferred.
- Prior experience working as a maintenance/Seibi member for an automotive manufacturer or supporting an automotive manufacturer as an equipment/vendor partner is highly preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong communication, presentation, coaching, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technicians, engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, including international travel.
- Willingness to work up to 50% overtime, including weekends and holidays.
