About The Role
Oscar is seeking an experienced .NET Developer to join its dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust applications using C# and ASP.NET. You will work on building RESTful APIs, microservices architectures, and managing SQL Server databases to support various business functions. The ideal candidate will thrive in an agile environment, contributing to the continuous improvement of the company's software platform. This position offers the flexibility of working remotely across the UK or from the company's office in Hull, providing an excellent balance between professional development and work-life balance.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a strong background in software development with expertise in the .NET framework. Essential qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Proven experience in developing applications with C# and ASP.NET is required, along with a solid understanding of REST API development and microservices architecture. Familiarity with SQL Server and database management is essential. Additionally, experience with Agile methodologies, version control systems such as Git, and CI/CD pipelines will be advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive attitude are also important for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient applications using C# and ASP.NET.
- Create and optimize RESTful APIs to support various frontend and backend integrations.
- Develop and implement microservices architecture to enhance system modularity and scalability.
- Manage and optimize SQL Server databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and best practices.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate relevant technologies and methodologies.
- Support deployment and operational activities, ensuring smooth release cycles.
- Engage actively in Agile ceremonies, providing estimates, feedback, and participating in sprint planning.
