Indexed description

AlediumHR is recruiting a Business Development Executive for a privately held pharmaceutical repackaging company serving physician office dispensing and U.S. government customers, including the VA and Department of Defense.

This role focuses on growing the government business through reliable supply partnerships and products that make commercial sense for both our client and the manufacturer.

Our client is looking to expand its generic pharmaceutical portfolio for the U.S. government market. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will develop manufacturer partnerships and negotiate agreements that bring new products into the business.

Direct experience with generic pharmaceutical manufacturers is required, along with established relationships with the people who make commercial decisions. General pharmaceutical or healthcare experience alone will not meet the requirements for this position.

They need someone who understands how generic manufacturers evaluate opportunities and has personally brought agreements from an initial conversation to a signed deal.

Your responsibilities will include:

Develop relationships with commercial leaders, business development teams, and executives at generic pharmaceutical manufacturers with U.S. operations.

Source and close supply, distribution, licensing, or other product agreements. Manage the process through negotiation, internal approval, contracting, and handoff for launch.

Evaluate product opportunities against government demand, competition, supply availability, and expected profitability. Follow manufacturer launches, shortages, and discontinuations to identify potential openings.

Work with government business, contracts, operations, finance, quality, regulatory, and legal teams to assess opportunities and ensure manufacturer commitments can be met.

Keep an accurate opportunity pipeline and give the CEO clear updates on deal progress, expected close dates, obstacles, and decisions needed.

Candidates must have at least three years of business development, commercial, portfolio, sourcing, licensing, strategic account, or related experience in the U.S. generic pharmaceutical industry.

You should be able to explain the agreements you personally originated and closed, the manufacturer relationships you developed, and the revenue or profit those agreements produced.

You will need a working understanding of generic drug economics, product lifecycles, and supply constraints, along with the judgment to assess deal terms and recommend where BRP should invest its time.

The role requires someone who can work independently, negotiate effectively, and stay involved when an agreement encounters delays or competing priorities.

Knowledge of VA or Department of Defense purchasing channels is helpful, as is experience with pharmaceutical repackagers, wholesalers, distributors, or institutional customers. Relationships with international generic manufacturers that have U.S. commercial operations are also valuable. A bachelor's degree is preferred.

This is a remote position open to candidates anywhere in the United States. New Jersey or the Northeast is preferred because of the region's concentration of pharmaceutical companies. Regular travel is required for manufacturer meetings, industry conferences, and business reviews.

The base salary is open, depending on experience, plus a performance bonus tied to closed agreements and profitable portfolio growth. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 401(k), and paid time off. Candidates must pass a background check and drug screening to be eligible.

To apply, submit your resume to AlediumHR. We would like to hear about your work with generic pharmaceutical manufacturers and the agreements you have closed. During the hiring process, you should be prepared to discuss which manufacturer relationships and product opportunities you would pursue first.
