Data Architect

Thomson Keene are seeking an experienced Oracle Data Architect to join a major financial services organisation on a long-term daily rate contract based in South Dublin.

This role sits within a large-scale enterprise data environment supporting critical regulatory and business reporting functions. The successful candidate will provide architectural leadership across complex data platforms, helping shape data strategy, solution design and technology direction.

The position has a strong focus on Oracle-based data architecture, with exposure to Big Data technologies and modern data processing frameworks considered advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and evolve enterprise data architecture and technology roadmaps.
• Design scalable, resilient data solutions supporting regulatory reporting and analytical workloads.
• Lead solution architecture activities across business and technology stakeholders.
• Drive best practices in data modelling, metadata management and data lineage.
• Provide architectural governance and technical leadership across delivery teams.
• Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, security and reliability requirements.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies and mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on architecture implementation and platform evolution.
• Mentor technical teams and contribute to architecture standards and best practices.

Required Experience

• Strong experience as a Data Architect, Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect.
• Deep expertise in Oracle database technologies and enterprise-scale data platforms.
• Proven track record delivering data architecture within complex environments.
• Strong data modelling and database design experience.
• Experience defining end-to-end solution architecture.
• Ability to engage effectively with senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Experience working within financial services, banking or similarly complex regulated environments.

Desirable Experience

• Big Data architectures and distributed data processing.
• Apache Spark.
• Cloud-based data platforms.
• Data governance, metadata and lineage frameworks.
• Regulatory reporting platforms and data solutions.
