Finance Data Migration Test Analyst - 9 month FTC

We are currently recruiting for a Data Migration Test Analyst to support a major finance transformation and general ledger replacement programme. This a 9 month fixed term contract.

Working closely with Finance, IT and data teams, you will be responsible for developing and executing the testing approach for the migration of financial data between ERP systems.

This role would suit someone with previous experience in finance systems testing, data migration or ERP/GL implementation projects, with a strong understanding of financial data and reconciliations.

The Role

• Develop detailed data migration test scripts and reconciliation requirements

• Carry out end-to-end migration testing across mock migrations, SIT, UAT and dress rehearsal stages

• Perform reconciliations at trial balance, account, subledger and transaction level

• Validate the completeness and accuracy of migrated financial data using control totals, record counts and data comparisons

• Investigate data discrepancies and work with Finance and IT teams to identify and resolve issues

• Log, track and retest defects using Jira or similar tools

• Review source-to-target mappings and validate data transformations

• Support data quality and cleansing activities, including master data and mapping checks

• Prepare reconciliation workbooks, testing evidence and validation reports to support business sign-off

• Ensure testing and reconciliation documentation is complete and audit-ready

• Work closely with finance SMEs, data migration teams and other project stakeholders throughout the programme

What We're Looking For

• Approximately 3+ years' experience in financial systems testing, data migration, financial reconciliation or a related area

• Previous involvement in an ERP implementation, finance transformation or general ledger replacement project

• Experience with data migration testing and validation

• Good understanding of general ledger processes, trial balances, subledgers and financial reconciliations

• Experience developing and/or executing UAT and SIT testing

• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of financial data

• Experience using Jira or a similar defect/test management tool

• Ability to investigate discrepancies and work through data, mapping and transformation issues

• Strong attention to detail and good stakeholder communication skills

Experience with major ERP/GL systems such as SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle or similar would be beneficial.

A background in financial services and/or a professional accounting or testing qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or ISTQB would be advantageous but is not essential.
