We are seeking an expert-level Application Engineer to serve as the technical lead for a growing CRM engineering practice built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform. This role will define architecture, engineering standards, ALM/DevOps practices, and technical direction while mentoring engineers and overseeing external vendor delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Define architecture, design patterns, coding standards, and engineering best practices for the CRM platform.
- Architect and develop complex solutions across Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Dataverse, and Azure.
- Provide expert-level Dataverse plugin development using C#, client-side scripting, workflows, and business rules.
- Build and review integrations using JavaScript/TypeScript, C#/.NET, REST/SOAP APIs, and ETL workflows.
- Own the platform's ALM/DevOps strategy, including environment management, solution packaging, release pipelines, and promotion governance.
- Establish and enforce security, compliance, testing, and engineering quality standards.
- Serve as the technical lead and primary technical point of contact for an external systems integrator/vendor.
- Review architecture, code, and deliverables from internal engineers and external partners.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance on complex problems.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation covering architecture, standards, and best practices.
- Evaluate emerging Dynamics, Power Platform, Azure, and AI-assisted development technologies.
Required Qualifications
- 8–10+ years of progressive software engineering experience preferred.
- Deep, recent experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Dataverse, and Azure.
- Proven experience defining architecture, patterns, and engineering standards for a team or enterprise platform.
- Expert knowledge of Dataverse ALM, including managed/unmanaged solutions, multi-environment strategies, security roles, and release governance.
- Strong experience with C#/.NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, REST/SOAP APIs, and integration development.
- Experience with Azure identity and security, including App Registrations and Managed Identity.
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD platforms.
- Experience mentoring engineers and reviewing code and technical work produced by others.
- Ability to operate independently as the senior technical authority for a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications such as PL-400, MB-500/600, AZ-204, AZ-305, or similar.
- Experience establishing engineering standards and architecture practices from the ground up.
- Experience managing or evaluating systems integrators or outsourced development teams.
- Experience supporting complex, multi-line-of-business Dynamics 365/CRM environments.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools and emerging Microsoft platform capabilities.
Compensation: Up to $165,000 annually
Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
