Senior Developer – Commercial Applications

A Taleo client is seeking an experienced Senior Developer – Commercial Applications with 12+ years of experience to develop, enhance, support, and maintain critical commercial applications and integrations. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on technical expertise across PowerBuilder, Microsoft .NET technologies, APIs, Microsoft SQL Server, and web server technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, support, and maintain critical commercial applications and integrations.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to identify and deliver technology solutions that address business needs.
• Participate in application architecture, design reviews, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and optimize complex business solutions while ensuring application stability, scalability, and performance.
• Support application integrations across multiple platforms and systems using APIs and modern integration technologies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, performance, and user experience.
• Provide technical leadership and contribute to best practices for development, deployment, and support processes.
• Lead technical discussions and contribute to IT solution decisions in business and Information Services (IS) meetings.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant application development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with PowerBuilder, Microsoft .NET technologies, APIs, Microsoft SQL Server, and web server technologies.
• Proven experience in the development, support, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise business applications.
• Experience with PowerBuilder and .NET build and release management processes.
• Strong understanding of custom database-driven application development.
• Experience integrating applications across multiple platforms and systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration capabilities.
• Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and solution designs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience within the Oil & Gas / Energy industry.
• Strong understanding of the Oil & Gas / Energy industry data lifecycle, including trade capture, validation, processing, and downstream integration.
• Experience with volumetric scheduling processes and related Oil & Gas business data.
• Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions that support commercial operations.
