Job Title: Technial Test Lead | Functional Testing | Mainframe Testing

Location: Torrance, CA 90501 (On-site 4–5 days/week)

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Visa Requirement: Visa-independent candidates only

Job Description:

We are seeking a senior QA professional with 8–10+ years of experience in enterprise testing, QA automation, and test leadership within Agile or hybrid environments. The successful candidate will lead testing activities across functional, integration, regression, UAT, API, backend, database, Mainframe, and end-to-end testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead test planning, test strategy, execution, and reporting across functional, integration, regression, UAT, API, backend, database, and end-to-end testing.
• Work closely with development teams, business stakeholders, and QA teams to understand requirements and define effective test scenarios.
• Develop comprehensive test plans for Mainframe-connected applications and validate integrations between .NET applications, Mainframe/DB2, SQL Server, middleware, and downstream systems.
• Perform functional and technical validation of ASP.NET/.NET applications, REST/SOAP services, databases, and system integrations.
• Create test scenarios, test data, traceability matrices, quality status reports, and release-readiness documentation.
• Manage defect lifecycle including defect triage, root-cause analysis, retesting, and closure.
• Develop and maintain UI and API automation suites using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, NUnit, SpecFlow, Cucumber, Postman, and SoapUI/ReadyAPI.
• Support automation integration with CI/CD pipelines and tools including Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, TFS, TeamCity, and Harness.
• Perform database testing, SQL validation, ETL/data validation, and backend reconciliation using DB2 and SQL Server.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams and provide regular quality and release-status updates to stakeholders.
• Mentor QA team members and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and automation practices.

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills

• 8–10+ years of experience in enterprise QA, functional testing, automation, or test leadership.
• Strong experience with .NET Framework, ASP.NET, C#, Visual Studio, and WCF.
• Hands-on experience with Mainframe applications, DB2, SQL Server, ETL, and data validation.
• Strong API and integration testing experience with REST/SOAP APIs.
• Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, NUnit, SpecFlow, Playwright, and Cucumber.
• Experience with Postman and SoapUI/ReadyAPI for API testing.
• Experience with Agile/hybrid delivery methodologies and end-to-end test management.
• Strong SQL and database testing skills.
• Experience with defect and test management tools such as Jira, HP ALM/Quality Center, qTest, Zephyr, and TestRail.
• Familiarity with Confluence and Splunk.
• Experience with source control and CI/CD tools including Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, TFS, TeamCity, and Harness.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Automotive or auto-sales domain experience is highly preferred.
• Must be available to work on-site 4–5 days per week in Torrance, CA.
• Must be visa-independent.
