SHR Talent is partnering with a private equity-backed, rapidly growing organization in the Chattanooga, TN area in its search for a Corporate Controller. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly acquisitive business during a significant period of growth and play an integral role in scaling the accounting function.

With several additional acquisitions anticipated over the next few years, the Corporate Controller will gain meaningful exposure to private equity, M&A integration, multi-entity accounting, and a rapidly evolving financial environment.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will serve as a key accounting leader responsible for the integrity of the company's financial reporting, multi-entity consolidations, close process, and accounting operations. The ideal candidate combines a strong technical accounting foundation with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple legal entities
  • Own multi-entity consolidations and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Review and oversee journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger activity, and financial statements
  • Prepare, review, and enhance financial and management reporting
  • Maintain strong accounting controls, processes, and procedures as the organization scales
  • Manage, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team
  • Partner closely with the CFO and executive leadership on accounting and reporting matters
  • Support accounting integration associated with acquisitions and newly added entities
  • Identify opportunities to improve close timelines, reporting capabilities, and accounting processes
  • Utilize NetSuite to produce and analyze financial information
  • Support external reporting, audit, and other accounting requirements as needed
  • Provide accounting leadership within a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting and consolidations
  • Demonstrated ownership of month-end close and financial reporting
  • Prior experience managing and developing accounting professionals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization
  • Ability to remain hands-on while also operating as a leader
  • Experience within a growing, acquisitive, or private equity-backed organization strongly preferred
  • CPA preferred but not required
