About the role:

A Leading Credit Union is investing heavily in technology, and we need a leader to shape how we build it.

You'll own application development for the whole organization. That means setting the direction, growing a team of 7 developers, and shipping the systems our members and associates rely on every day. This isn't a maintenance role. We're modernizing core platforms, integrating new systems, and raising the bar on how we build software. You'll have real influence over all of it.


What you'll do

  • Set the technical direction for application development and tie it directly to business priorities
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the team of developers and senior technical leads
  • Own delivery end to end, from architecture and design through testing, UAT, and release
  • Define the standards: coding practices, TDD, version control, and documentation
  • Build out modern DevSecOps practices, including automated CI/CD and security built in from the start
  • Lead integration across business-critical systems, including APIs, data migration, and system-to-system communication
  • Partner with business, product, and IT leaders to turn needs into solutions that work
  • Keep evaluating new tools and technologies, and advise leadership on where to invest


What you bring

  • 8+ years building software, with 3+ years leading development teams
  • Hands-on background in C#/.NET, JavaScript, and SQL; Python or Java is a plus
  • A track record of delivering projects on schedule while managing a team
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevSecOps tooling such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub, or Azure DevOps
  • Experience building or adapting APIs for custom applications
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience

Nice to have

  • Experience in financial services or at a credit union
  • Exposure to core banking or digital banking platforms
