Lead Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead to take ownership of the squad’s technical approach, design decisions, engineering standards, and delivery. The role will involve leading technical implementation, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and DevSecOps practices, mentoring engineers, and driving quality, security, testing, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the technical approach, design decisions and engineering standards for the squad.
• Ensure alignment with architecture, product roadmaps and existing DevSecOps foundations without duplicating them.
• Lead code reviews and enforce quality, security and testability standards.
• Guide the squad through build, configuration, refactoring and integration work.
• Produce and present technical evidence: build/deployment evidence, test and integration evidence, operational readiness.
• Mentor squad engineers and pair with SMEs to enable knowledge transfer.
• Provide technical input to risk, dependency and decision logs.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 8+ years software engineering experience, with 3+ years leading delivery teams.
• Strong hands-on capability across C++, C#, Java or Python and SQL.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git-based workflows, automated quality gates and secure SDLC.
• Experience modernising legacy systems incrementally in live environments.
• Track record of evidence-led delivery within enterprise governance.
