Position: .Net Applications Architect Location: Tallahassee, FL 32399 Duration: 8 Months plus Job Summary

  • Analyze, document, and re-engineer payroll distribution and journal vouchering processes as they transition to standards.
  • Assess, document, and recommend remediation or decommissioning of over 1,500 affected computing assets, including applications, interfaces, and reporting programs.
  • Lead design and documentation of end-to-end application architectures using Microsoft .NET technologies.
  • Establish architectural standards, reference architectures, and design guidelines for the agency's technology landscape.
  • Evaluate and recommend technology stacks, frameworks, and solution patterns (monolithic, modular, microservices, event-driven).
  • Provide technical leadership, hands-on development support, and mentoring to development teams.
  • Review code and design artifacts to ensure adherence to architectural standards, SOLID principles, and best practices.
  • Support and enhance CI/CD pipeline integration, deployment strategies, and modernization of legacy systems.
  • Guide migrations from legacy platforms (e.g., JCL/COBOL/FOCUS) to modern .NET solutions.
  • Identify and prioritize remediation of technical debt, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Perform code reviews, technical documentation, solution architecture diagrams, and maintain architectural decision records (ADRs).
  • Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and other technical staff to ensure successful integration with the new statewide accounting system.
  • Utilize agency tools (e.g., SonarQube) to improve code quality, maintainability, and security.
  • Contribute to the update and replacement of legacy UI components (e.g., AngularJS, Kendo UI) with modern frameworks.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues across various systems.
  • Ensure strong communication between technical and business stakeholders, documenting requirements and design decisions.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, governance forums, and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Possess expertise in .NET, C#, WebAPIs, Entity Framework, Azure DevOps, front-end JS libraries, SQL Server, and financial/ERP systems.
  • Apply best practices in clean architecture, domain-driven design, performance tuning, scalability, and reliability within the agency's IT environment.
