Tax Senior, Japanese Services (Global Employer Tax)

Work you'll do
As a Tax Senior in Global Employer Services, Japanese Services Group (JSG), you will:
- Provide consultative services to Japanese companies while exceeding expectations.
- Deliver the breadth of Global Employer Services for our Services Group.
- Apply your technical experience in tax compliance, compensation, global equity, and payroll/employment tax engagements to identify and consult on tax issues.
- Participate in foreign national/expatriate tax returns, mobility program support, global compensation review, global pensions, and payroll.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
- Effective written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
- Ability to lead projects or workstreams

Qualifications
Required
- Language fluency in Japanese (native level preferred) and English (both written and verbal)
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, human resources, international business, finance, economics, cross-cultural studies, or other relevant discipline
- 3+ years of experience in employment tax, global personal income tax compliance and consulting, global compensation, rewards, transactions, mobility consulting, and/or global talent strategy consulting; with a quantitative aptitude and ability to apply those skills to every-day client situations
- Ability to travel 5%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
- One of the following accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed Attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Capable of working within large, complex engagements and able to work efficiently and with a sense of urgency
- Strong communication (verbal & written) and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage assignments in a team environment
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality, and deadline and results-driven
- Global experience (foreign language skills, lived/studied abroad, strong cultural awareness)
- Strong analytical, consultative, quantitative, and project management skills
- Strong communication (verbal & written) and presentation skills
