🚀 Senior Software Engineer – C#/.NET

📍 Reading, Berkshire | Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days WFH)

💰 £60,000-£65,000

We're working with a client in Reading who is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to stay deep in the code — designing, building and shipping high-quality software, with real input into architecture and technical direction.

If you've got deep C#/.NET experience, a strong handle on CI/CD pipelines, and you want to keep developing your craft as an individual contributor, we want to hear from you.

💻 What You'll Be Doing

● Design, build and maintain scalable applications using C# and .NET

● Own and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, driving automation across build, test and deployment

● Contribute to key architectural decisions, balancing pragmatism with long-term maintainability

● Write clean, well-tested, production-grade code and set the standard for quality through your own work

● Work across the full software development lifecycle, from design through to deployment and support

● Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and technical debt

● Collaborate closely with product and QA to ensure smooth, reliable releases

● Take part in code reviews, sharing knowledge and feedback with the wider team

🎯 What You'll Bring

● Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer

● Strong, hands-on experience with C# and .NET

● Solid experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar)

● Good understanding of software architecture and design principles

● A genuine passion for writing high-quality, well-engineered code

● Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally

✨ Nice to Have

● Experience with Docker and containerisation

● Familiarity with Azure cloud services

● Exposure to Kubernetes or other container orchestration tools

● Familiarity with Agile delivery methods

🌍 The Setup

This is a hybrid role, based in Reading with an expectation of 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home each week.
