At Tactical, our mission is to design and develop smart software solutions that support defense forces, public safety organizations, and civil protection agencies. We also explore the application of artificial intelligence in all our solutions, including decision support tools and multi-source intelligence report analysis using natural language understanding. We are seeking for a Full Stack Software Engineer with a strong interest in cutting-edge technologies to join our R&D team in Athens.
In this role, you will have a dual focus: on the one hand, you will research and develop innovative solutions for modern applications involving AI, real-time data processing, and geospatial systems/maps; on the other, you will support and enhance critical, large-scale systems for Public Sector projects in the areas of Defence and Civil Protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development: Design and develop end-to-end solutions using .NET/C# on the backend and Angular on the frontend.
- Microservices & Databases: Contribute to the design of microservices architectures and work with both relational and NoSQL databases.
- Geospatial & Real-Time Data: Work with real-time data processing and the integration of mapping and GIS applications.
- AI & Decision Support: Integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) models and technologies to optimize processes and support decision-making.
- Research & Innovation: Continuously explore emerging technologies, AI tools and new approaches, while developing Proofs of Concept (PoCs) for innovative applications.
- System Support & Evolution: Maintain, enhance and upgrade existing high-availability systems supporting Defence and Civil Protection projects.
Required Qualifications – Must-Have
- Experience: Proven professional experience in a similar Mid or Senior-level Full Stack Software Engineering role.
- Backend: Strong knowledge of C# / .NET / .NET Core.
- Frontend: Solid experience with Angular, including TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS/Tailwind.
- Source Control: Strong experience with Git/GitHub, including branching strategies, pull requests and code reviews.
- Agile Mindset: Familiarity with Scrum/Agile methodologies, including daily meetings, two-week sprints and sprint reviews.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
These are not mandatory – we are open to training and supporting the right candidate in developing these skills.
- Containerization & Cloud: Experience or familiarity with Docker and Azure or another cloud provider.
- Databases & Streaming: Experience with MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis and/or Apache Kafka.
- Node.js & Mobile: Knowledge of Node.js and/or experience with hybrid mobile development technologies such as Capacitor.
- Maps & GIS: Familiarity with real-time data management and mapping/GIS frameworks.
- DevOps & Infrastructure: Basic knowledge of Kubernetes (K8s) and/or CI/CD pipelines.
- AI Tools: Familiarity with AI/LLM productivity tools, such as Claude, ChatGPT or GitHub Copilot.
