EDI Manager

Insight Global is looking to hire an IS Team Manager (EDI) to lead a team responsible for delivering and supporting enterprise-level EDI integrations across multiple business units within a transportation and logistics environment. This individual will oversee a team of approximately 10 direct reports, including Interface Coordinators and Developers, while serving as the primary technical leader for EDI strategy, integration projects, and team development. This role will focus heavily on leading integration initiatives, mentoring technical team members, and partnering with both business stakeholders and customers to deliver scalable integration solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EDI and software development, allowing them to guide architectural discussions, review development approaches, and provide direction on solution design without being responsible for day-to-day coding.

On a daily basis, this person will:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Interface Coordinators and Developers.
• Oversee the successful delivery of customer EDI integrations from requirements gathering through implementation and support.
• Partner with business stakeholders and customers to understand integration needs and prioritize project work.
• Provide technical guidance on EDI architecture, transaction processing, data flow, and application design.
• Review and advise on coding approaches, development methodologies, and solution design decisions.
• Manage project timelines, risks, resource allocation, and team priorities.
• Ensure EDI platforms and integrations are operating efficiently and meeting business requirements.
• Collaborate with leadership on process improvements, team development, and strategic technology initiatives.
• Drive best practices around integration standards, documentation, and development processes.
• Act as the bridge between business teams, customers, Interface Coordinators, and Developers to ensure successful project execution.

Must-haves:

• Prior software development background (.NET preferred)
• 4+ years of EDI experience
• Experience coordinating and delivering EDI implementations and customer integrations.
• Strong knowledge of:
• B2B EDI concepts
• EDI transaction sets
• Integration architecture
• Business processes and data flows
• EDI terminology and industry standards
• Experience leading technical teams, projects, or software development initiatives - lead / managerial experience preferred
• Familiarity with transportation and logistics data integrations.

Plusses:

• Previous management experience leading developers and technical teams.
• Experience with C# or other object-oriented programming languages.
• Experience working with EDI vendors and mapping platforms such as:
• DTN
• Descartes
• Other third-party EDI providers
• Experience working with transportation management systems (TMS).
