Reading, PA | Hybrid (2-3 days onsite per week) | Contract-to-Hire (or Direct Hire, client is flexible)

One onsite interview is required. Local candidates within a 1-hour drive of Reading, PA area.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Solution Architect to design and guide complex enterprise technology solutions from concept through implementation. The ideal candidate combines strong solution architecture experience with a software development background and is comfortable developing POCs, troubleshooting with engineering teams, and coding when needed.


Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end solutions across application, integration, data, cloud, infrastructure, and security.
  • Develop solution architectures, design patterns, standards, and technology roadmaps.
  • Work closely with development teams throughout implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Build POCs and provide hands-on technical support when needed.
  • Identify architectural dependencies, risks, constraints, and trade-offs.
  • Guide cloud and application architecture across AWS and/or Azure.
  • Influence technical direction and build consensus across multiple teams.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI.


Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience designing and implementing complex technology solutions.
  • Strong Solution/Application Architecture experience with a software development background.
  • Prior development experience with Java and/or Python.
  • Strong application, integration/API, and data architecture knowledge.
  • Cloud architecture experience with AWS and/or Azure.
  • Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and modern Agile/DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with microservices, event-driven architecture, containers, and modern distributed applications.
  • Ability to develop POCs and troubleshoot technical issues alongside engineering teams.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence decisions without direct authority.


Nice to Have

  • AWS or Azure certifications.
  • AI/ML experience.
  • Kubernetes/OpenShift experience.
  • IoT or other emerging technology experience.
