About the Team

The Developer Productivity (DevX) team builds and maintains the tools, platforms, and

infrastructure that help Helpshift engineers reliably build, test, deploy, and release products. We

work across CI/CD, build and release automation, developer tooling, cloud infrastructure,

Kubernetes, observability, security, and engineering workflows. Our goal is to reduce

engineering friction, improve developer productivity, and make software delivery faster, safer,

and more reliable.

We are looking for an engineer who can independently own complex DevX problems, build

scalable engineering solutions, and partner with teams across Helpshift to improve developer

productivity.

What You'll Work On

• CI/CD & Release Engineering:

o Design, implement, and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines for build, test,

deployment, and release workflows.

o Improve pipeline performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.

o Identify bottlenecks in build and release workflows and drive improvements.

o Develop release automation and deployment workflows.

o Troubleshoot complex pipeline and release failures.

o Tools / Technologies: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Git, Argo CD, Argo

Rollouts, Helm, or equivalent.

• Developer Productivity & Automation:

o Design and build tools that improve developer productivity and reduce

engineering friction.

o Identify recurring engineering problems and automate them through scalable

solutions.

o Build internal developer tooling, CLI utilities, and workflow automation.

o Understand developer workflows and identify opportunities to improve the

overall SDLC.

o Languages / Technologies: Python, Shell/Bash, Go, Java, Clojure, or equivalent.

• Cloud & Infrastructure:

o Design and maintain cloud infrastructure supporting CI/CD, development,

testing, and engineering platforms.

o Build infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.

o Design solutions with appropriate considerations for scalability, reliability,

security, and cost.

o Improve infrastructure automation and operational efficiency.

o Tools / Technologies: AWS, GCP, Azure, AWS CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation,

Pulumi, Ansible, or equivalent.

• Containers & Platform Engineering:

o Design and operate containerised platforms used by engineering teams.

o Work with Kubernetes-based infrastructure and deployment platforms.

o Improve reliability, scalability, security, and efficiency of container platforms.

o Troubleshoot complex Kubernetes and container issues.

o Tools / Technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Helm, Kustomize, ECR,

Argo CD, or equivalent.

• Observability & Reliability:

o Design and improve observability for DevX platforms and engineering

infrastructure.

o Develop meaningful metrics, dashboards, alerts, logs, and traces.

o Identify reliability and performance bottlenecks using observability data.

o Drive improvements to system availability and operational efficiency.

o Tools / Technologies: Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Datadog,

Loki, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Fluent Bit, OpenTelemetry, or equivalent.

• Security in Engineering Workflows:

o Integrate security into CI/CD and developer workflows.

o Design secure pipeline and infrastructure patterns.

o Improve container, dependency, code, and infrastructure security.

o Work with security teams to address risks and compliance requirements.

o Tools / Technologies: Trivy, Prisma Cloud, Snyk, Checkov, cfn-guard, cdk-nag,

OPA/Conftest, IAM and secrets-management solutions, or equivalent.

• Build, Test & Developer Environments:

o Improve build and test infrastructure used by engineering teams.

o Identify bottlenecks in build and test workflows and improve their performance.

o Design and maintain scalable development and test environments.

o Improve sandbox and environment provisioning through automation.

o Partner with engineering teams to understand and solve developer workflow

challenges.

• Troubleshooting & System Reliability:

o Diagnose complex issues across CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes,

networking, and distributed systems.

o Perform root-cause analysis and drive issues through resolution.

o Identify systemic problems rather than only addressing individual incidents.

o Contribute to incident response, reliability improvements, and operational

practices.
