Company Description University Radiology is the largest provider of subspecialty radiology and teleradiology services in New Jersey, with over 200 board-certified radiologists trained in all imaging modalities and subspecialty areas. With more than 60 years in operation, the organization staffs, manages, and delivers preliminary and final subspecialty interpretations for hospitals, imaging centers, and other medical facilities. University Radiology also serves as the academic radiology faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, contributing to education and research. Its physicians interpret over 2.1 million radiology procedures annually, supporting high-volume, complex clinical environments. Candidates joining University Radiology will be part of a respected, academically affiliated practice with a strong focus on quality, innovation, and patient care.
Role Description The Chief Technology Officer – Radiology is a full-time, on-site role based in East Brunswick, NJ. This role leads the technology vision and strategy for the practice, ensuring that imaging informatics, clinical systems, and supporting infrastructure effectively serve radiologists, clinical partners, and administrative teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing software development initiatives, guiding system architecture decisions, and directing product development for radiology IT solutions such as PACS, RIS, workflows, and teleradiology platforms. The CTO manages technology projects from concept through implementation, collaborates with clinical and operational leaders to identify needs and optimize processes, and aligns IT strategy with organizational growth, regulatory requirements, and cybersecurity standards. The role also includes vendor and partner relationship management, technology roadmap planning, budget oversight, and leadership of a multidisciplinary IT team to drive innovation and reliability in all radiology technology services.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Software Development and Product Development for healthcare or radiology IT solutions, including leading cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong background in Architecture and IT Strategy, with experience designing scalable, secure, and high-availability systems in clinical environments.
- Proven Project Management skills, including planning, execution, stakeholder communication, and delivery of complex technology initiatives.
- Extensive experience with imaging informatics (PACS, RIS, VNAs, teleradiology platforms), interoperability standards (DICOM, HL7, FHIR), and clinical workflow optimization.
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance and security frameworks (HIPAA, PHI protection, data governance) and best practices for risk management and business continuity.
- Leadership capabilities in building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing technology teams, with a collaborative and inclusive management style.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate clinical and operational needs into technical solutions.
