Country Lead / Founding Member
Lagos, Nigeria (on-site)
Kasookoo and KChat (both part of
Yuave Group) are sister businesses operating across African markets — Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Benin and Ivory Coast — with Nigeria as the priority market, targeting the same customer segments.
Kasookoo combines wholesale SIP connectivity (Kasookoo Numbering
Services) with a developer platform (Kasookoo Dev) offering Flash Call Authentication and Click2Call.
KChat runs alongside it as our messaging/chat business. Fintech is a core focus for both — alongside
telecom resellers, ISVs and BPOs — and Nigeria's fintech ecosystem in particular is central to our near-
term growth. We're at an early, high-growth stage and looking for a founding-level operator to build and
lead our commercial presence in Nigeria.
The role
We're hiring a Country Lead as a founding member of the Lagos team — someone who has driven fast growth or market expansion in an internet/tech business before, ideally with startup experience, and who wants to build that same trajectory here from close to zero. This is a team leadership role, not an individual-contributor one: you'll build and run the commercial function across both Kasookoo and KChat, hire and coach the people under you, and be a long-term partner to the founder as the company scales from seed through Series A, B and C.
What you'll own
- Growth strategy & execution — define and drive the plan to grow revenue and market share across both
Kasookoo and KChat's core segments, with a particular focus on fintech
- Team building & leadership — recruit, coach and manage the commercial team as it grows (Sales,
Customer Success and related functions)
- Business expansion — identify and open new customer segments, partner channels and geographic markets across Africa, for both businesses
- New partnerships — proactively build new partnerships across the Nigerian and broader African
ecosystem, not just manage inbound deal flow
- Pipeline & existing partnerships — build and manage a sales/BD pipeline, including reseller and channel
partnerships, shared across Kasookoo and KChat where it makes sense
- Go-to-market — shape how Kasookoo's products (SIP/numbering, Flash Call Authentication, Click2Call)
and KChat's offering are positioned and sold, including new motions like developer-led and mid-market growth
- Metrics & systems — establish the KPIs, reporting and processes needed to run growth as a repeatable, measurable function, and to prepare the company commercially for future fundraising
What we're looking for
- A proven track record of fast growth or business expansion in an internet/tech business — you can
point to a specific period where you materially grew revenue, users, or market presence
- Experience in the Nigerian fintech ecosystem is highly desirable — existing relationships and
credibility in this space are a strong advantage
- Prior team leadership experience — you've hired, coached and managed a commercial team before, not
just carried your own number Comfortable operating in an early-stage, resource-constrained environment — this is a founding role, not arole with an existing playbook handed to you
- Startup experience is a plus — prior experience at another early-stage company (ideally in internet,
telecom, fintech or adjacent sectors) is valued, particularly if you've operated without a fully built-out team around you
- Based in or willing to relocate to Lagos, with a genuine understanding of (or strong appetite to learn) the Nigerian and broader A frican market
Looking to join for the long term — this is a foundational hire, not a short-term or transitional role
Compensation
Market-competitive salary plus meaningful equity — reflecting the founding, long-term nature of this role.
What success looks like
- A New customer segments and/or markets opened within your first 6–12 months
- A commercial team in place — hired, coached and operating with real ownership
- New partnerships established across the Nigerian/African ecosystem
- growth pipeline and reporting cadence that didn't exist before you joined
- Demonstrable revenue growth attributable to initiatives you drove
- The company's commercial function increasingly ready to support fundraising from Seed through Series A, B and C
Why join
- Founding-member equity and influence over how the growth function and Nigeria team are built
- Direct access to and partnership with the founder/CEO
- A genuine ground-floor opportunity in African communications infrastructure — building something
- regional and category-defining across two complementary businesses, not incremental
- A long-term role at the center of the company's growth from early stage through multiple funding rounds
