Position Summary

• Client is looking for a Technical Engineer who understands how a company’s websites work, place Cloudflare in front of them, configure security rules, automate and test the changes, safely switch traffic over, monitor the results, fix problems, and coordinate with all the teams involved.
• This role partners with application, security, network, and infrastructure teams to develop technical solutions, automate configurations, support production cutovers and hypercare, and continuously improve cloud security engineering practices.
• A good fit will be someone with a network security and/or programming background who has a high-level knowledge of web security, firewall technologies, and infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with Cloudflare is a plus.

Job Description

• Provides technical design, implementation, and operational support for WAF migrations to Cloudflare.
• Applies IT knowledge, specialized technical experience, research, and analysis to create technical solution specifications that meet business and technical requirements.
• Demonstrates knowledge of common tools that support the area of expertise.
• Drives implementation activities and provides technical support for escalated operational incidents and problems.
• Maintains high-level knowledge of Web Security, WAF, Firewall technologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitors and reports task assignment progress and status as required and escalates risks and issues to key stakeholders.
• Meets with application owners to better understand their applications and technical requirements.
• Coordinates implementation of Cloudflare solutions and supports hypercare activities during cutover.
• Proactively identifies opportunities for continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies, tools, and engineering methods applicable within the area of responsibility and expertise.

Job Requirements

• 1–3 years of IT experience.
• Bachelor of Computer Science (IT/Information Security) or equivalent certifications or relevant work experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
