Position : DevOps Engineer / SRE – Elastic Platform

Job description

• Deploy, operate and maintain Elastic Stack on Amazon EKS using ECK, including node roles, resource sizing, TLS/secrets management and rolling upgrades.

• Design and maintain highly available Elasticsearch clusters across AWS Availability Zones, with proper shard allocation, persistent storage and zone awareness.

• Monitor and tune Elasticsearch performance, including JVM heap, file system cache, shard sizing and cluster capacity.

• Troubleshoot platform-level issues such as unassigned shards, circuit breaker trips, hot spotting and mapping explosions.

• Define infrastructure requirements for the Elastic platform, including EKS node groups, EBS, StorageClasses, resource requests/limits, PDB, topology spread and IRSA.

• Review Terraform changes and validate infrastructure readiness, scalability and rebuild capability.

• Work with Cloud Platform Engineers on EKS upgrades, node rotation, maintenance and production operations.

• Design and operate ILM and data lifecycle policies across hot, warm, cold and frozen tiers, including searchable snapshots on Amazon S3.

• Configure and maintain backup/restore and disaster recovery procedures and regularly validate recovery readiness.

• Configure AWS FireLens / Fluent Bit to ship ECS Fargate logs to Elasticsearch and integrate CloudWatch/AWS events for monitoring and alerting.

• Deploy and operate Elastic APM Server and Elastic Agent/Fleet, including integration and agent policy management.

Job Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering.

• Hands-on experience operating Elasticsearch in production at scale, including cluster sizing, sharding, ILM, snapshots, upgrades and troubleshooting.

• Strong Kubernetes experience, including StatefulSets, Persistent Volumes, resource management, PDB, affinity, taints and operator-based deployments.

• Hands-on experience with Amazon EKS and AWS infrastructure; experience with EBS, S3 and IAM/IRSA is preferred.

• Good understanding of Terraform and ability to review infrastructure code and changes.

• Experience operating stateful and memory-intensive workloads with strong knowledge of capacity planning, backup/restore and production upgrades.

• Good Linux administration and shell scripting skills.

• Experience with AWS FireLens / Fluent Bit, Elastic APM, Elastic Agent/Fleet is an advantage.

• ECK experience is a strong advantage.

• Elastic Certified Engineer, CKA or relevant certifications are a plus.

• Experience in observability/logging platforms and cost optimization is an advantage.

• Familiarity with JVM/Tomcat monitoring and performance is a plus.

• Good English communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to work effectively with distributed teams.
