Cloud Engineer I

Optomi, in partnership with a leading technology firm, is looking for a Cloud Engineer I.

Position Summary: The Cloud Engineer I will provide level 1 support and troubleshooting for cloud platforms, handling routine tasks such as platform monitoring, backups, user issues, and onboarding. This role involves basic script writing to assist with platform automation and solving problems under general supervision. The position requires developing skills for greater independence and understanding fundamental concepts and procedures.

What type of experience does the right candidate have:

• Scripting experience, preferably in Python
• Experience with AWS and Terraform
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, including AWS networking, infrastructure management, automation, GoLang programming, and cybersecurity best practices

What the responsibilities are of the right candidate:

• Develop software platforms and frameworks, including platform automation
• Maintain services and monitor system health
• Scale systems sustainably using continuous deployment and automation
• Research and implement best design principles to improve reliability and velocity
• Work in an agile environment and engage in practices such as XP and test-driven development
• Collaborate with technical staff to resolve software problems and address customer complaints and suggestions for improvements
