Lead Platform Engineer

Optomi, in partnership with a leading organization, is looking for a Lead Platform Engineer for an onsite opportunity in Cleveland, OH.

This role focuses on the infrastructure side of Kubernetes and container platforms, bridging architecture and engineering while establishing technical direction, maintaining Kubernetes infrastructure, and mentoring engineers.

• Experience troubleshooting Kubernetes and container environments.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
• Experience working across cloud and on-premises environments.

What the responsibilities are of the right candidate:

• Build, maintain, and manage Kubernetes infrastructure and clusters.
• Partner with architecture teams to establish platform priorities and standards.
• Lead POCs and first implementations of new technologies.
• Establish repeatable platform patterns and golden paths.
• Influence enterprise container platform standards.
• Support cloud and on-premises container environments.
• Troubleshoot and improve platform infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers and support broader engineering initiatives.

Preferred Skills:

• On-premises Kubernetes/container experience.
• Azure AKS or AWS EKS experience.
• Experience leading major technical initiatives or implementations.
• Experience establishing platform standards, patterns, or golden paths.
