🚀 Hiring: Senior Software Engineer – Embedded Linux
📍 Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
⏳ Duration: 12-Month Contract
We’re looking for a Senior Embedded Linux Software Engineer to join an advanced Aerospace & Defense technology team focused on next-generation mission systems and embedded platforms.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and support Embedded Linux BSPs, device drivers, and board support software
- Work across Linux kernel, bootloader, root filesystem, build toolchains, and drivers
- Perform board bring-up and target hardware integration
- Design, code, test, deliver, and support embedded Linux software
- Troubleshoot complex hardware/software issues and perform root-cause analysis
- Participate in Agile development, planning, and Jira task management
Must-Have Skills:
- 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of professional Embedded Linux device driver development
- Strong C/C++ programming skills
- Experience with Bash and Python
- Hands-on board bring-up and hardware integration
- Hardware/software debugging using schematics, logic analyzers, Wireshark, and similar tools
Nice to Have:
- Git and SVN
- Buildroot / custom Linux distribution packaging
- Agile / DevSecOps experience
- Strong communication and collaborative teamwork skills
