Responsibilities
- Design and implement integrations across development, testing, infrastructure, monitoring, and engineering systems to create seamless end-to-end workflows.
- Automate repetitive workflows to improve efficiency, consistency, and reliability across multiple engineering teams and projects.
- Partner with engineering teams to identify productivity barriers and implement solutions that remove friction from development and delivery processes.
- Develop reusable tools, processes, and frameworks that can be leveraged across multiple projects to standardize and accelerate engineering practices.
- Troubleshoot complex issues that span software, infrastructure, networking, and development environments, providing robust and sustainable solutions.
- Establish monitoring, metrics, logging, and observability strategies to measure system health, platform reliability, and engineering performance.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including AI-powered development and automation tools, to enhance engineering capabilities and reduce manual effort.
- Create training materials, documentation, and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions to promote tool adoption, best practices, and continuous learning within engineering teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data, operational metrics, and user feedback to refine tools, workflows, and platform capabilities.
- Support secure software development practices and compliance-focused engineering activities, aligning with industry and program security requirements.
- Integrate and optimize DevOps and DevSecOps tools to support CI/CD pipelines, source control, containerization, infrastructure automation, and system integration.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering, platform engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong software development and automation skills with a focus on building scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD practices and tooling, source control systems, containers, infrastructure, and system integration.
- Strong scripting and programming ability in Python, PowerShell, Bash, C#, or similar languages used for automation and tooling.
- Experience integrating systems through APIs, automation frameworks, plugins, or custom tooling to connect diverse engineering platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a systems-level understanding of how software, infrastructure, and development workflows interact.
- Experience with monitoring, metrics, logging, and observability solutions to support reliable operations and performance insights.
- Experience with SQL, databases, and information processing to support data-driven engineering and automation initiatives.
- Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes and container orchestration in modern application and platform environments.
- Experience in C for embedded Linux, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and bare metal environments supporting advanced hardware and embedded systems.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies for provisioning and managing infrastructure.
- Experience designing CI/CD platforms and reusable pipeline frameworks, particularly with Jenkins or comparable tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, as well as hybrid and on-premises environments.
- Experience evaluating and implementing AI-assisted development, AI agents, or large language modelbased automation in engineering workflows.
- Experience with CMMC-related security checks and compliance-focused engineering activities.
- Interest in or prior exposure to defense, aerospace, embedded systems, and advanced technology programs.
- Motivation to grow into platform engineering, DevSecOps leadership, or broader engineering enablement roles.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Melbourne, FL.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
