Platform Engineer – Infrastructure & DevOps

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure / Systems Engineer to support and enhance a complex IT and OT infrastructure environment, with a strong focus on automation, scripting, monitoring and DevOps practices. This is a hands-on infrastructure role for someone who enjoys improving the way infrastructure is managed — developing scripts and playbooks, automating repeatable tasks, improving monitoring and contributing to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Developing and improving automation scripts and playbooks for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, standard changes and operational compliance.
• Supporting and enhancing automation and DevOps tooling, including Git, Ansible, Terraform, Puppet and scripting frameworks.
• Improving monitoring, logging, alerting and dashboards across servers, virtualisation, storage, backup and core data centre services.
• Developing and maintaining SOPs, runbooks and operational documentation covering infrastructure automation, change execution, pipeline usage and rollback procedures.
• Performing day-to-day hosting infrastructure activities including provisioning, maintenance, changes and operational support, using automation wherever possible.
• Supporting incident and problem management, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.

About You

You will have a strong infrastructure engineering background combined with an interest or proven capability in automation and DevOps.

Key skills and experience include:

• Strong experience with Windows and Linux server environments.
• Solid knowledge of virtualisation, storage, backup and monitoring technologies.
• Experience supporting infrastructure within complex data centre or enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with scripting, automation and configuration management.
• Experience with one or more of Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, PowerShell or Python.
• Understanding of Git repositories, automation workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capability.
• Understanding of incident, problem, change and release management practices.

Desirable

• Experience working within OT, ICS, industrial or operational technology environments.
• Understanding of the additional security, availability and operational requirements associated with OT environments.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and/or Infrastructure as Code.
