Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Linux/CAE System Administrator with 7+ years of experience to join our digital solutions manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux/RHEL system administration, automation, scripting, CAE application support, software licensing, and infrastructure management experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and optimizing Linux environments, supporting CAE/simulation applications, managing software licensing, automating system administration activities, maintaining infrastructure performance, and ensuring system stability and availability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Linux System Administration

  • Administer and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
  • Perform OS installation, configuration, deployment, upgrades, and patch management.
  • Troubleshoot Linux operating system, server, and application issues.
  • Maintain system logs, monitoring processes, and operational documentation.
  • Support production Linux environments and ensure system availability.

2. CAE Application Support

  • Install, configure, upgrade, test, and support CAE and engineering simulation applications.
  • Support applications such as Ansys, LS-DYNA, Nastran, or similar CAE tools.
  • Troubleshoot application installation, configuration, integration, and performance issues.
  • Work with engineering teams to resolve application-related problems.
  • Support integration of CAE applications with enterprise infrastructure.

3. Software Licensing

  • Manage and troubleshoot CAE software licensing environments.
  • Support license-management technologies such as FlexLM and RLM.
  • Monitor license availability and resolve licensing-related issues.
  • Coordinate software upgrades and license-server changes.

4. Linux Automation & Scripting

  • Develop and maintain scripts for system administration and automation.
  • Use Bash, Shell, Perl, Python, or equivalent scripting languages.
  • Automate system monitoring, health checks, deployments, and routine administrative tasks.
  • Utilize configuration-management/automation tools such as Ansible where applicable.
  • Improve operational efficiency through automation and internal tooling.

5. Infrastructure Management

  • Troubleshoot issues involving servers, storage, networking, and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Support hardware installation, maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle activities.
  • Monitor system capacity, performance, and resource utilization.
  • Participate in infrastructure upgrades and technology initiatives.

6. Monitoring & Operations

  • Perform system health checks and monitor production environments.
  • Track and troubleshoot incidents and service interruptions.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
  • Follow established change-management and deployment processes.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Provide system performance and incident reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 7+ years of Linux System Administration experience, preferably with RHEL.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Strong hands-on experience with RHEL/Linux administration.
  • Experience with Bash, Shell, Perl, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Experience with OS deployment, patching, configuration, and automation.
  • Experience supporting CAE/engineering simulation applications.
  • Experience with Ansys, LS-DYNA, Nastran, or similar tools is preferred.
  • Experience with FlexLM, RLM, or other software licensing systems.
  • Strong understanding of servers, storage, networking, and infrastructure.
  • Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, incident management, and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience developing internal automation tools, dashboards, or web-based tooling such as PHP is a plus.
