Senior Full-Stack Engineer – Java/Azure

Adecco is recruiting a Senior Full-Stack Engineer for a financial services organisation modernising a business-critical investment accounting platform.
The position focuses primarily on Java backend and platform engineering. You will build scalable services supporting high-volume accounting workflows, real-time and batch data processing, and integration with enterprise data platforms. You will also contribute to architecture decisions, mentor engineers and take ownership of services in production.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test and operate scalable Java and API-driven services.
- Develop multi-tenant capabilities for real-time and batch data ingestion.
- Modernise legacy functions into cloud-ready, API-first services.
- Work with SQL and/or NoSQL databases and enterprise data platforms.
- Improve reliability, observability, auditability and operational controls.
- Lead design discussions and support architecture decisions.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor other engineers.
- Take ownership from implementation through deployment and production support.
- Collaborate with product, operations, architecture and distributed engineering teams.
Required experience
- 7+ years building large-scale distributed software systems.
- Strong hands-on Java and backend API development.
- Experience with production-grade service design, testing, deployment and support.
- SQL and/or NoSQL database experience.
- Cloud or hybrid-platform experience.
- CI/CD, DevOps practices and automated testing.
- Strong technical communication and mentoring skills.
- Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred experience
- Microsoft Azure and on-premises platforms.
- Financial services, investment accounting or transaction-processing systems.
- Oracle, Snowflake, Python, TypeScript, Angular, Kafka or Spark.
- Legacy platform modernisation.
- AI-assisted software development tools.
