Role: Fullstack AI Engineer
Space: AI x Life Sciences
Location: New York City (Onsite)
Interested in building the infrastructure behind production AI agents, and the products people use to interact with them?
We're partnered with a fast-growing, venture-backed AI company building complex enterprise software within life sciences.
They're looking for a Fullstack AI Engineer to join an early engineering team, owning everything from the backend systems powering AI workflows through to customer-facing product experiences.
You'll solve difficult technical problems, influence architecture from day one, and own what you build all the way into production.
What You'll Be Doing:
• Build and scale the infrastructure powering production AI agents
• Develop Python services and APIs supporting complex AI workflows
• Solve problems across agent orchestration, context management, streaming, retries, and failure recovery
• Build customer-facing products using React, Next.js, and TypeScript
• Design backend systems and data models that can scale with increasingly complex workflows
• Improve reliability, performance, testing, and observability across production systems
• Work closely with AI, Product, and Design to turn new capabilities into real product features
• Own projects from technical design through deployment and iteration
What They're Looking For:
• 3+ years of software engineering experience building production systems
• Strong Python backend engineering experience
• Strong fundamentals across APIs, databases, distributed systems, and system reliability
• Experience building AI applications, agent infrastructure, or production LLM systems
• Comfortable building across React, Next.js, and TypeScript
• Strong understanding of testing, observability, security, and production engineering
• Comfortable making architecture decisions and solving ambiguous technical problems
• Excited by high ownership and joining an early engineering team
Why Join?
• Build production AI systems solving genuinely complex engineering problems
• Own major parts of the platform rather than a small piece of a mature codebase
• Influence architecture, product decisions, and technical direction from an early stage
• Work across both AI infrastructure and customer-facing product development
• Ship quickly, see customers use what you build, and iterate from direct feedback
• Competitive compensation, meaningful equity, and strong long-term career progression
