⚙️ Our Product

IoT Demand Response System (IoT-DRS) — a retrofit IoT solution for HVAC, refrigeration, and cold storage equipment that combines AI-driven optimal control with Demand Response (DR) revenue generation.

📋 Role Overview

As a Backend and DevOps Engineer, you'll build and operate the cloud infrastructure and backend systems that power Greenphard's IoT-DRS platform. Working closely with frontend and IoT device engineers, you'll drive new feature development and maintain existing code, while also designing and developing the data processing infrastructure behind our energy optimization and demand response control.

What You'll Do

• Build and operate serverless/container architecture using AWS Lambda and ECS
• Manage infrastructure and set up CI/CD pipelines using Terraform (IaC)
• Develop backend APIs, batch processing, and data transformation logic in Python and Go
• Manage Linux systems and write automation scripts
• Design data pipelines from IoT gateways to the cloud
• Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend and IoT engineers

✅ Requirements (1+ year each)

• Development and operations experience with AWS Lambda / ECS
• Experience building and managing infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform
• Experience with Linux bash utilities and Linux OS setup/operations
• Backend development experience in Python and Go
• Business-level English proficiency (reading, writing, and meetings) — English is our internal lingua franca in this multinational team

• Experience with AWS services such as Amplify, EventBridge, or CloudWatch
• Frontend web application development experience
• Database design and query experience with PostgreSQL
• Conversational-level Japanese

📍 Work Conditions

• Location: SN Building 9F, Kaigan 1-4-22, Minato-ku, Tokyo (relocation within Tokyo planned in the near future)
• Remote work: Up to 1 day/week (subject to manager approval and business needs)
• Hours: Flextime with core hours 10:00–16:00 (standard 8-hour workday)
• Holidays: Full two-day weekends (Sat/Sun), public holidays, paid leave (more PTO is allocated in lieu of fixed summer/year-end holidays, given our multinational team's varying cultural holiday needs)

■ 仕事内容

GreenphardのIoT-DRSを支えるクラウドインフラストラクチャおよびバックエンドシステムの構築・運用をご担当いただきます。フロントエンドエンジニア・IoTデバイスエンジニアと連携しながら、新機能の追加や既存コードの保守を行っていただきます。また、省エネ制御やデマンドレスポンス制御に関わるデータ処理基盤の設計・開発も担っていただきます。

【具体的な業務内容】
