Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems that support modern mobile and web applications. This role will focus on building reliable services, developing APIs, optimizing system performance, and contributing to architecture decisions that support future growth and maintainability.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned backend specialist with strong experience building distributed systems, working with cloud technologies, and delivering high-quality software in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that support mobile and web applications.
• Build scalable, secure, and highly available backend solutions.
• Integrate applications with backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver new features and enhancements.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Enhance system performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Support architectural modernization efforts and contribute to long-term platform strategy.
• Assist with application upgrades, maintenance activities, and platform enhancements.
• Take ownership of backend systems throughout the software development lifecycle, from design through production support.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in backend software development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python.
• Experience developing applications and services within AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
• Experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalable architectures, and cloud-native development principles.
• Experience working with JSON-based integrations and third-party services.
• Proficiency with Git and modern version control practices.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting backend systems that power mobile or web applications.
• Familiarity with modular architectures, microservices, and service-oriented design patterns.
• Exposure to mobile application architecture concepts and mobile-to-backend integrations.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes.
• Knowledge of system monitoring, logging, and observability practices.
