Software Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Software Engineer for one of our clients in Palo Alto, CA.

Rate Range: $65.00/hour to $75.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join a high-performing team building scalable, cloud-native enterprise applications. You’ll work with Java, Spring Boot, Angular, microservices, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design and deliver modern solutions that support critical business initiatives. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, contribute to technical and architectural decisions, and help deliver reliable, high-quality applications from concept through production.

We are seeking local candidates for this opportunity, as interviews will be conducted on-site. The work arrangement is 4 days onsite with 1 day WFH.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on enterprise application development.
• Strong expertise in Java and solid understanding of object-oriented design and development principles.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience building applications using Spring Boot and associated technologies.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and supporting microservices-based solutions and architectures.
• Experience developing front-end applications using Angular (highly preferred).
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, web services, and distributed system architectures.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, including designing scalable, maintainable, and reliable enterprise applications.
• Experience contributing to application and system design decisions, including defining components, interfaces, service interactions, and integration patterns.
• Ability to translate business and technical requirements into effective application and system designs.
• Experience creating, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Terraform.
• Required experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including the development and deployment of cloud applications.
• Proficiency with source control systems such as Git and familiarity with modern software development practices.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments, including participation in sprint planning, code reviews, and collaborative development activities.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment.

Education

• Bachelors in computer science or related field required.
