Senior Python Developer - AI & Full Stack Specialist

McLean, VA

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Developer with expertise in modern software engineering and production-grade AI application development. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who excels at designing, building, and supporting scalable Python-based solutions while leveraging emerging AI technologies, including agentic workflows and large language models (LLMs).

The successful candidate will have deep Python development experience, strong cloud and DevOps skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality, maintainable software solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Required Experience & Education

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a primary focus on Python.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience building, deploying, and supporting AI/LLM-based applications in production.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong Python skills (architecture, APIs, testing, packaging, performance).
  • Experience with AWS, Docker, and cloud-native development.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD, automated testing, and modern development practices.
  • Experience building AI/LLM solutions with LangChain, LangGraph, and MCP.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, async programming, distributed systems, SQL, and enterprise integrations.
  • Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, and RAG is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services or capital markets.
  • Knowledge of Kafka/event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
  • React or Angular experience.
  • Java or other enterprise languages.
  • Familiarity with AI infrastructure and vector databases.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain scalable Python applications and APIs.
  • Develop AI/LLM solutions using LangChain, LangGraph, and MCP.
  • Build cloud-native applications with AWS, Docker, and CI/CD.
  • Integrate APIs, databases, and enterprise systems.
  • Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and provide production support.
