About The Role
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team. This is a full time, permanent position based at our Perth office. You will play an essential role designing, delivering and supporting quality data solutions that meet the needs and exceed the expectations of our internal customers.
Working within the Data and Integration team and in collaboration with other Business functions, and Applications teams, the technical expertise of the Data Engineer will help shape and contribute to our data analysis, modelling and reporting strategy and roadmaps. The role utilises the latest technologies in a dynamic environment.
Key elements of the role include:
- Work with solution architects, business analysts, project managers, SMEs, vendors and contractors to implement private or public cloud and Azure-based modern data platforms, supporting the data and integration strategy
- Supporting data integrations and flows across Iluka systems on private and public clouds
- Design, develop, test, implement and support data ingestion processes, transformations, and models to enable data visualisation
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in our data and integration platforms, processes and solutions
- Work with IT and non-IT colleagues to deliver quality, value-adding solutions
- Share your knowledge and technical expertise through mentoring and up-skilling
- Tertiary qualifications and over 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Solid experience in designing and implementing efficient data pipelines such as Azure Databricks / Synapse Analytics.
- Solid experience in designing and implementing Python notebooks and SQL queries for data transformation and cleansing.
- Experience in designing and implementing integration solutions using industry-standard tools and technologies like Azure Integration Services,
- Experience in configuring and managing API’s (Application Programming Interfaces) for data exchange.
- Working with cloud storage solutions like Azure Blob Storage for data ingestion and processing.
- Solid background in implementing best practices for data modelling, governance and quality control.
- Experience of data preparation for Machine Learning Models.
- Experience of Semantic Modelling and industrial ontologies preferred.
