- Stakeholder & Client Management: Build strong, trusted relationships with public sector clients, senior civil servants, and departmental leads. Translate complex technical and service requirements into achievable delivery plans.
- Commercial & Financial Control: Manage project financials, resource allocation, statement of work (SOW) compliance, burn rates, and margin targets. Ensure alignment with public procurement frameworks.
- Governance, Risk & Compliance: Establish robust governance mechanisms. Identify, mitigate, and track project risks, issues, and dependencies (RAID) in environments with high regulatory and security scrutiny.
- Team Leadership & Enablement: Lead multi-disciplinary pods of user-centered design specialists, developers, and data specialists. Foster a transparent, psychological safe delivery culture focused on iterative value delivery.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Public Sector Experience: Proven track record of managing digital delivery, IT infrastructure, or consulting projects within government departments, public bodies, or healthcare sectors.
- Framework Knowledge: Familiarity with public sector delivery standards (such as the UK Government Digital Service / GDS Service Standard or equivalent regional public standards) and government procurement guidelines.
- Project Management Methodologies: Demonstrated proficiency in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and traditional project management frameworks (PRINCE2, PMP, or APM).
- Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Experience coordinating third-party suppliers, delivery partners, and multidisciplinary consultancy teams under public framework contracts.
