Your impact

Jacobs is challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world’s most critical problems. We’re seeking a Junior Data Scientist to join the Asset Management Digital Strategies Practice within our Advisory Solutions Group. You’ll support Federal clients by helping develop data-driven analytical solutions that improve operational efficiency and management effectiveness.

In this early-career role, you’ll contribute across the data and application development lifecycle—from collecting, organizing, and analyzing data to building visualizations, reports, and interactive decision-support tools. You’ll work with data scientists, software developers, and client teams to turn business needs into practical analytical solutions, including applications built with Palantir Foundry and React.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources.
  • Support the development and maintenance of databases, data models, and repeatable data workflows.
  • Apply statistical and analytical techniques to explore data and help answer client questions.
  • Develop visualizations, reports, and dashboards that communicate findings and support decision-making.
  • Contribute to software development using the Palantir SDK and React, including building and improving Workshop applications.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement front-end and back-end solutions that meet project needs.
  • Translate business and operational requirements into clear analytical or technical tasks.
  • Present findings and explain analytical results to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Develop your skills in data science, software development, business process engineering, and system integration.

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Up to two years of experience in data science, analytics, or software development. Relevant academic projects and internships count; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Foundational programming skills in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or a similar language.
  • Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to work.
  • Interest in learning new technical skills and applying them in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% within the United States and internationally.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Common Access Card and obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this government-facing role. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, including its SDK or Workshop.
  • Experience with React, Angular, or another front-end framework.
  • Exposure to business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience with data visualization, statistical analysis, or predictive modeling.
  • Interest in business process engineering, system integration, or decision-support applications.
