Technical Platform Owner

We're partnering with a leading Australian organisation looking to bring on a Technical Platform Owner to take technical ownership of their finance and billing platform, alongside their document management system. A hands-on role owning how the platform runs, how it is configured and how it improves, working closely with finance and the wider business. This is an individual contributor seat with no direct reports, suited to someone who wants depth in the platform.

The Opportunity

• Own the administration, configuration and day to day running of the finance and billing platform
• Act as the escalation point for incidents and service requests across the platform
• Shape the roadmap and help prioritise what gets built next, turning business requirements into user stories, specs and a working backlog
• Lead upgrades, enhancements and integration work through to UAT and release
• Identify where processes are creating manual effort or friction across finance and operational workflows, then implement the improvements
• Keep data quality, access controls and audit trails in order
• Manage the vendor relationships behind the platform
• Work with the reporting team so the data structures underneath hold up for what gets built on top
• Provide technical ownership across the document management platform alongside the finance system

What We're Looking For

• 3-5 years supporting and owning enterprise business applications
• Hands-on experience with a finance, billing or ERP platform such as Yardi, Dynamics 365, Oracle, SAP, TechnologyOne, Elite 3E or Aderant
• Strong SQL, comfortable working directly with the database behind the platform
• Track record identifying process improvements and delivering them, not just maintaining the status quo
• Exposure to a document management platform such as SharePoint, OpenText, M-Files, iManage or Objective
• Good understanding of how client, billing and revenue data connects across systems, plus exposure to integrations
• Reporting experience across Power BI or SSRS an advantage
• Strong Excel and M365 capability
• Comfortable writing user stories and specs and explaining them to both technical teams and senior finance stakeholders
