Position Summary

The Technology Systems Specialist supports the district's technology operations with primary responsibility

for data processing, account management, system synchronization, and selected administrative technology

platforms. This position requires an experienced, adaptable IT professional who can work independently,

troubleshoot across multiple systems, maintain accurate and secure data, and learn district-specific

applications and procedures. As with most school technology positions, the employee will support a broad

range of technology needs beyond the primary areas listed below.

Primary Responsibilities

Data Processing and Integration

• Manage routine data processing, imports, exports, synchronization, validation, and troubleshooting

between district systems.

• Monitor scheduled data transfers and identify and correct synchronization or data-quality issues.

• Maintain documentation for recurring data processes, system dependencies, and operational

procedures.

• Assist with student, staff, and organizational data workflows as assigned.

Data Systems and Application Administration

• Monitor application integrations and work with vendors to resolve data synchronization and connectivity

issues.

• Support district applications that depend on automated student, staff, course, and organizational data.

• Maintain, configure, update, and troubleshoot ClassLink and associated data connections, integrations,

and rostering processes.

• Assist with administration and support of district identity, account, and application-access systems.

Network and General Technology Support

• Provide basic network troubleshooting and support for wired and wireless connectivity, switches,

endpoints, and related infrastructure.

• Assist the district's system/network administration staff with projects, upgrades, deployments, and

troubleshooting as needed.

• Provide general technical support when necessary, recognizing that school district technology staff

routinely support systems outside their primary assignment.

• Work with vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and support district projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• Two or more years of practical information technology experience, preferably in a multi-user

organizational environment.

• Demonstrated experience supporting user accounts, directory services, data systems, applications, or

similar administrative technology.

• Working knowledge of networking concepts, troubleshooting, and endpoint connectivity.

• Ability to diagnose problems, document solutions, prioritize work, and communicate effectively with

technical and nontechnical staff.

• Ability to learn new systems and assume responsibility for district-specific platforms.

Preferred Experience

• Google Workspace for Education and Google Admin Console.

• Microsoft Active Directory and directory/account synchronization.

• ClassLink or comparable identity, rostering, and single sign-on platforms.

• Student information systems, data integrations, rostering, or automated data exchanges.

• Experience with the SIS and BIS Ascender is a plus.

• K-12 school district technology operations.

Professional Expectations

The successful candidate should be dependable, service-oriented, security-conscious, and comfortable

working in an environment where priorities can change quickly. The position requires sound judgment,

attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to collaborate with other technology staff and

understand there may be overlap in responsibilities.

Working Conditions / Other Requirements

• Ability to travel between district campuses and facilities as needed.

• Ability to occasionally work outside normal business hours for maintenance, outages, projects, or

emergencies.

• Ability to perform routine physical tasks associated with technology support, including moving equipment

and accessing technology installed in offices, classrooms, network closets, and other district facilities.

• Must maintain confidentiality and comply with district policies and applicable student and employee data

privacy requirements.
