Indexed description
Nobody notices a configuration database until it is wrong. Then everybody does. You would own the record of what actually exists at a multinational defence communications site in Torrejon de Ardoz, just outside Madrid: the network diagrams, the rack layouts, the mobile estate and the software licences. On-site, full time, from early November.
What You Would Be Doing
- Building the configuration database for the site and keeping it accurate as things change, rather than accurate on the day it was written
- Drawing and revising the network diagrams and rack layouts that sit behind it, in Visio
- Holding the mobile estate: the lines, the handsets, who has what and what is dormant
- Acting as licence manager for the site - what is owned, what is deployed, what is due
- Keeping the wider documentation set current so the engineers who rely on it can
- Hands-on asset and configuration management in a service environment, the ITIL way
- Real fluency in Visio for IT drawings - diagrams and rack layouts you have produced yourself
- Practical experience running software licensing for an organisation
- The discipline to keep a record true when nobody is checking
- Professional English
