About the role

As a Data Governance Consultant at adesso, you will support our clients in improving data discoverability, quality, ownership, and governance.

You will work closely with client stakeholders and an experienced lead consultant to take over, implement, and further develop data governance and data catalog solutions. The role combines stakeholder communication with practical implementation work in tools such as Collibra and OpenMetadata.

Your responsibilities

• Support the implementation and maintenance of data governance frameworks.
• Configure and maintain data catalog tools, particularly Collibra and/or OpenMetadata.
• Document data assets, metadata, ownership, and stewardship information.
• Support the definition of business terms, data quality rules, and governance processes.
• Help improve data discoverability and trust across the organisation.
• Collaborate with business, data, and technical stakeholders.
• Participate in client workshops and translate requirements into practical solutions.
• Work with the lead consultant during knowledge transfer, transition, and implementation activities.
• Contribute to documentation, training, and continuous improvement of governance processes.

Your profile

• At least 3 years of experience in data governance, data catalogues, metadata management, or a related area.
• Practical experience with Collibra, OpenMetadata, or similar data catalog tools.
• Basic to solid understanding of data quality and data governance principles.
• Experience documenting data assets, metadata, ownership, or business terms.
• Ability to communicate confidently with clients and different stakeholder groups.
• Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented working style.
• Good command of English.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing or configuring Collibra or OpenMetadata.
• Experience with data quality management, data lineage, or business glossaries.
• Previous consulting or client-facing experience.
• Knowledge of German.
