Asset Manager

We are looking for an Asset Manager to support the full lifecycle of technology assets for an organization in Michigan. This contract opportunity has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who can bring structure, accountability, and consistency to hardware and software asset practices. The person in this role will help ensure devices and licenses are tracked properly, processes are followed, and end users understand the standards required for asset control.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee technology assets from initial request through deployment, tracking, recovery, and retirement to maintain accurate lifecycle management.

• Maintain reliable records for laptops, installed software, and related equipment so inventory status and ownership are clearly documented.

• Enforce asset governance procedures by guiding employees through established request, assignment, and return processes.

• Use tools such as Intune and Freshservice to support asset discovery, inventory accuracy, service workflows, and reporting.

• Partner with internal teams to confirm software usage, device allocation, and compliance with company standards across the organization.

• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, missing asset details, and process gaps to improve overall control of the environment.

• Assist with evaluating and incorporating asset management tools or system enhancements when needed to strengthen operational visibility.

• Produce regular updates and reports on asset counts, software tracking, and lifecycle status to support business decisions.

• Demonstrated experience in IT asset management, including both hardware and software administration.
• Working knowledge of asset lifecycle practices covering procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
• Hands-on familiarity with Microsoft environments and endpoint management concepts.
• Experience using Intune or Windows Intune for device visibility, discovery, or management.
• Exposure to Freshservice or a similar IT service management platform is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and follow structured processes consistently.
• Comfortable taking a proactive, hands-on approach in a role that requires ownership and follow-through.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to reinforce policies and set clear expectations with end users.
