Job Description

We are now looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team at our Athens based office. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of accounting operations, preparing financial reports, maintaining tax compliance, and supporting the monthly and annual closing processes. This role requires strong knowledge of accounting standards, excellent analytical skills, and experience working with ERP systems.

This is an important role reporting to the Finance Manager of the company. 

Qualifications

What you’ll do

• Manage the General Ledger and ensure the accuracy of accounting records.

• Prepare and post journal entries.

• Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile customer and supplier accounts.

• Support the monthly and annual financial closing processes.

• Reconcile and validate myDATA transactions with accounting records.

• Liaise with External advisors for preparation and submission of VAT returns, withholding tax returns, and other statutory tax filings.

• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors during statutory and financial audits.

• Perform reconciliations between ERP and other business systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and applicable tax regulations.

Additional Information

What you‘ll need:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Senior Accountant or similar role.

• Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) will be considered an asset.

• Experience with SAP ERP will be considered an asset.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Very good command of the English language, both written and spoken.

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

• Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
